HubSpot's default lifecycle stages are Subscriber, Lead, Marketing Qualified Lead, Sales Qualified Lead, Opportunity, Customer, Evangelist and Other, and the Lead Status property holds sub-stages within Sales Qualified Lead (source: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/use-lifecycle-stages). When you move to GoHighLevel, we suggest deciding whether each stage becomes a pipeline stage, a tag, or a custom field. Upload your HubSpot contacts export (it needs the Lifecycle Stage column; Lead Status is used if present). You get a count of contacts in each stage and a suggested GoHighLevel pipeline stage and tag for each, which you can edit in the downloaded CSV.
Your file is read in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
How to choose: pipeline stage, tag or field
- Pipeline stage: for contacts with an active deal you want to work in GoHighLevel. GoHighLevel asks you to create the pipelines and stages before an opportunity import, and the Pipeline value in the CSV should match an existing pipeline (source: https://help.gohighlevel.com/support/solutions/articles/155000002517-importing-opportunities-using-a-csv-file).
- Tag: for segments you will filter or trigger workflows on, such as customers or subscribers.
- Custom field: if you only need the old stage for reporting or history.
The suggestions are a starting point. Edit the CSV so the stage names match the pipeline stages you set up.

Where do I find the Lifecycle Stage column?
The mapper needs a CSV export of your contacts that includes a Lifecycle Stage column (and Lead Status, if you use it).
Is my export uploaded?
No. It is read in your browser.
