HubSpot import error: "Could not parse date"

Your HubSpot import finished, but the errors list says Could not parse date. Here is what HubSpot says it means, a free date checker for your file, and the steps we follow.

What the error means

HubSpot's import troubleshooting article says the file contains a date value that does not match the format you selected during the import. If HubSpot can read the value as a date, it may import it wrong, for example with the day and month swapped. If the swapped day isn't a valid month, HubSpot can't parse it. HubSpot says the affected records were imported, but the date property is empty.

Check your CSV before you re-import

How we fix it

1. Find the date columns that showed up in the HubSpot import errors.
2. Run each one through the checker. If your whole file is from one source, pick its day/month order so every value is read the same way.
3. Download the converted file, or fix the flagged rows by hand.
4. When you re-import, choose the date format in HubSpot's import step that matches the file (YYYY-MM-DD if you used the converter).
5. HubSpot's fix: update your import file with the correct value and re-import, or update the property value in the affected records by hand.
